Sasha Bakes: Pandan Hokkaido Bread

I baked pumpkin Hokkaido bread using the pumpkin that I have harvested from my own garden the other day and my hub refused to eat it, cos he said "you know I don't eat pumpkin" but I know that's not the only reason cos he always complains that the bread from my Tesco Bread Machine is too big, not square. Don't ask me why. It's just something about square bread that he likes.

See? Not square!

See? Too big!

Since I have a bunch of pandan leaves and left over of whipping cream, I just decided to bake another loaf although I haven't finished the pumpkin bread yet.

For own reference: (cos my brain is failing me!)

See? Very square bread!
The colour is not vibrant cos I'm using natural pandan colouring and flavour. If you want to have greener effect you can use pandan serani.

Ingredients:
Pandan Milk 120gm (refer to step no.1 to get Pandan Milk)
Whipping cream 75gm
Egg 1
Sugar 40gm
Salt 1tsp
Milk powder 25gm
Cake flour 30gm
1/4 tap double action baking powder (i use Clabber Girl brand)
Bread flour 270gm
Yeast 1tsp
Butter (add in after first beep) 1 tbsp

Steps:
1. Cut pandan leaves and add in 120gm of fresh milk in Thermomix. Speed 10, 15 seconds. Remove and use a teabag  (I use the teabag bags from Daiso) and pour the mixture into the bags and give it a good squeeze. That will be your pandan milk.

2. In the bread pan, add in ingredients from top to bottom following the sequence and after you have added the bread flour, just dig a small well and add in yeast in the middle. Do not let the salt touch the yeast. If you are using the same spoon, please make sure u wipe it real clean ya :)

3. Select Sweet Mode. 2lbs.  Doesn't matter what colour crust cos you are not baking in the bread machine. But if you are then choosing light and medium should be okay.

4. The bread maker will mix and then stop for a while. When you hear the beep sound, add in room temp butter.

5. After the machine stopped kneading, switch off the BM. But if you are baking in the bread maker, leave it and you are done.

6. If you want to shape it or bake in a pullman pan: The dough will rise double in size (45 mins -1 hour) remove from bread maker pan and punch it. Knead it till it pass the finger test (poke into the middle and the hole remains and slowly spring up) or window pane test.

7. Divide into 3 portion and flatten it then roll it up and arrange into the Pullman bread pan. (You can refer to this expert's page to see how she roll and arrange the dough in the pan. Btw, her recipes are great! ) Remember to oil your pan with butter especially the cover.  Let it rise till 70% of the Pullman bread pan.

8. Put in oven 180degree for 30 mins. The dough will rise till the entire pan is filled, so you will get a very square bread.

9. After done, remove from pan and let it cool on wire rack. Otherwise your bread will be wet.
See? Cool them like this.

If you want even more perfect bread that looks like Gardenia or Massimo , you can use a bread cutter. Can find in Mr DIY for rm7.90

So this time my hub got what he want. Square bread. Pandan square bread. And not "not-square" pumpkin bread.
He's happy.
I'm happy.
*lol*

Corn and Water chestnut soup

Ah... The weather is going crazy hot these days. Typical CNY weather but this year was the worst. I heard draught is happening too. So I think I better take precaution just in case my kids get overheated internally and I end up nursing sick kiddos later. So I stood at the wet market and googled "Chinese soup for Hot days and "corn and water chestnut" appeared so I went and bought all the ingredient. And then when I got back, I tried to look for the same page, I can't track it back.

What to do? Simply whack la. After all its just boiling soup right?

And this was my soup for today.

And then I tried googling again and I found the recipe here.

Boil it for about an hour and you have a cooling drink for the family.

Here are some benefits about water Chestnut. Preg ladies, do take precaution about consuming water chestnut ya.

Sasha Cooks: Fried mini Lion Head Meatballs.

I ran out of idea what to cook for dinner. So I went and scroll WanTanMien's youtube page and then saw this recipe for Fried Mini Lion Head Meatballs. The name caught my attention and after viewing the video, I thought "Hey, I can do that!"
(Don't worry about not being able to catch up, she even wrote down the ingredients in her video description)

And so I did today.
This was my dish for tonight together with ABC soup.
The taste is somewhat like Siu Mai with sauce and so my kids ate them up (they usually do not eat much meat)
I'm quite happy with it but I think I could have done better , maybe marinate the meat longer.
And since there is only one dish, there's no left over and cleaning was easier.
I better go and scroll more easy recipes like this. hehe

Sasha Cooks: Basil Chicken

Let me tell you something. I hate to refer to recipe books(but i still do, cos I like to look at pics :D ). Cos the ingredients are usually so long and I need like a gazzilion sauces just to cook one dish!So if you see my recipe here it means 3 things:
1. need very lil ingredient.
2. its very easy to cook.
3. no specific amount of this and that. Just hantam!

So here is my first Basil chicken.Yum Yum!

here's what you need:

ChickenMarinate with
:Garlic (chopped)
Fish sauce
Brown sugar
Soy Sauce
Pepper

Yellow bell pepper (or any other veg)
One bunch of Basil (remove from stem, only need the leaves)Oil

Method:
1. Add oil and fry the chicken.
2. Add bell pepper and basil
3. Eat

And best, you can replant your basil stem and you will get Basil growing in your garden. How cool is that?

My Chiffon Cake Journey

My first thought: "so cheap, must be very easy to make". So I happily went to the cake shop and got the cake tin and all the ingredients. And this was my first chiffon cake.

Kaput cake. I was too happy that it rise so high, I quickly take it out and I didn't know that I need to overturn the cake for half or an hour before I can release it from the tin. On the same day, a big co called me and asked me to see them for design. Well, at least a good news that day :)
I tried a few rounds and I didnt even take pic of it cos the cake total went flat, uncooked and collapse. Unhappy about it, I kept quiet and kept thinking what's wrong. My hub encouraged me and he went to buy a tray of 30 eggs for me to try. he say fail nevermind, got 30 eggs for you to play with :) should I be happy or what? Haha

So I tried again, this time orange flavor recipe and I used Joyce's(an FB friend) recipe and the recipe was meant for smaller tin. But I don't know how to increase the amount and didnt dare to cos I'm still learning how to make an edible cake, what more wanna increase the vol? So the cake was abit thin but hey, an edible one. I'm happy enough.

So I tried again. This time after I got back from Cameron with fresh strawberries and i made using TMX recipe. So I made a chiffon cake with fresh strawberries minus colour or paste. It was okay but I'm still not quite happy with the outlook of it.

And then I made 2 orange chiffon cakes. One for my neighbour, one for me.

Yes, I tried again. This time with Pandan flavor and I'm quite happy with it :)
But jayden told me "mami, green is Justin fav colour. Not mine." so he refused to eat this cake. He asked me " can you make a blue or strawberry one for me?"

And so I tried again. (are you tired already? Cos I'm quite tired typing this in my iPhone haha) and this time I made a tri-colored chiffon cake. I followed the recipe from the "chiffon cake is done" recipe book and voila! My best ever chiffon cake. And everyone is happy cos JT got his green Pandan, JD got his pink strawberry and everyone is finishing my cake!
And then I got busy and there was totally no time to even think about cake, what more a so challenging cake like this. The egg white meringue, the egg yolk batter, the temp of the oven, the strict rule of no temp fluctuation, and must overturn the cake right after take out from oven, damn stressful.

So last sat we're at tesco and my hub kept asking me "so.... Wanna bake cake ah?" I said "why ah?" oooh cos tesco was having this promotion, buy rm100 and above and you can buy a tray of 30 eggs for Rm4++.

So today I though I'll fail again and plus, i have 30 eggs to play with. I quickly took out all the ingredients and this was the fastest cake I made so far. I was quite slumber about it cos I thought I'll fail. After I removed it from the oven, I quickly overturn it and brought it along to my mums house. As soon as we reached, JT said he wanna cut the cake with me and he said he want a pc although it was JD fav colour. My best and fastest chiffon cake so far.

I sat down and I thought to myself.. boy.. i really baked quite alot of chiffon cakes and then I checked my notica app in iPhone and I actually have a diary or the things I cooked and baked. From the first failed cake to my latest cake. What a journey ! And I wanna pat my own shoulder for not giving up :)

Sasha Cooks: Fresh Cordyceps Soup

This was the next soup after the Wai Sun soup that I have cooked for us and my neighbour. Cordyceps look abit yucky cos it looks like worms. But after I have tried it and googled the benefits, I am definitely going to cook more of this soup for my family.

Benefits of Cordyceps:
1. Cordyceps strengthens the immune system by increasing the number of protective cells. The body will have more resistance against diseases caused by numerous bacteria and viruses.
2. Cordyceps improves sexual function and vitality in both men and women. Cordyceps stimulates the production of sex hormones in males and is an effective way to fight infertility in females.
3. Cordyceps aids in achieving a good night sleep because it calms the nervous system. It also alleviates stress and anxiety for sleep to become restful and productive.
4. Cordyceps is very helpful to people with hypertension as it can lower blood pressure and increase blood supply.Cordyceps acts by relaxing the walls of blood vessels to deliver more blood to the heart while decreasing blood pressure.
5. Cordyceps has anti-aging effects because it has antioxidant properties.
6. The antioxidants promote cellular formation and offers protection against free radicals that causes cell damage.
7. Cordyceps can ease the symptoms of asthma, cough, and chronic bronchitis because of its anti-inflammatory properties. It also relaxes the bronchial walls that decrease the severity of these diseases. For diabetics, cordyceps is useful in regulating blood sugar levels.
8. Cordyceps prevents liver and kidney diseases by improving the blood flow in these very vital organs.
9. Cordyceps enhances the delivery of oxygen in cells, promoting healthy cells, tissue, organs, and systems.
10. Cordyceps can also improve cognitive function like memory and mental sharpness.

(okay initially I have scheduled this post with link of where I copied that. But then something went wrong with blogger and everything went missing O.o)

So I gathered everything..

Some Fresh Cordycepts
Yok Chook
Red Dates
Honey Dates
Arrowroot ( Fun Kot)
Chicken Carcass (or you can use ribs, or chicken drumstick too)
Salt

I boiled it over the stove for about 30 mins and stransferred them into my thermal pot and leave it for few hours.

I like the taste and my kids wallop the dinner so fast that night.
And true enough we had a good night sleep that night. :)

Perfect Sausage Omelette Roll

I was preparing to cook hotdogs for my kids lunch and I thought, how to make it special leh? I've done Nasi pattaya before.
They walloped it. First time ever eating fried rice without complain.Cos Jayden cannot eat rice without soup. He said too dry cannot swallow. But with this smiley egg and with "surprise" inside the egg, can eat.

So while I was preparing the omelettes, I popped the sausage at the end of the omelette like this. But before that you got to make sure yr sausage is cooked.
Let it cook for abit. So that the sausage is stucked to the omelette.

and then roll it abit with yr spatula.

Roll samo...

Tadaa!

A perfect rolled Sausage Omelete Hotdog for my kids.

My Jayden loves it. He said how come he sausage is rolled up with the egg wan? And because of that, He ate 2!  *lol*

Sasha cooks: Ladybird & Bee Steamed Cupcakes

I have been thinking to make this cupcake ever since I saw it in her blog. So after few days of thinking, I said what the heck, let's do it. So I followed her recipe and got the ingredients ready but I didn't  enough of the red rounded jelly mould (I have 4 only) but I have lots of Egg Tart moulds and I do not have any cupcake paper. I thought nevermind, since it won't work anyway (since I have been failing to bake chiffon cake so many days!)

So I got my Thermomix ready. Throw everything in, sifted the flour and baking powder together and got my colouring and piping bag ready. I didn't dare to take pic of the preparation stage cos my mum used to tell me, if I talk about it, I will jinx it. But I took pic of the steaming process after I saw it rising perfectly. hehe
yeap, I mixed and them steamed in the same machine.

And this was the outcome
Probably my mould is too low or I didn't mix the egg and sugar till fluffy then only add in the flour, so that's why it didn't look like the hers'.
I tried it, and it was quite yummy.
Maybe next round I shall mix the egg and sugar till its fluffy then only add in the rest of the ingredients.

Sasha Cook: Stuffed Chicken Wings with Ham and Carrot

Okay. So I got my HCP and been toying around with it for a while. And I suddenly felt like eating chicken wings. And I don't have much ingredients in my fridge, so I just make use of whatever I have and created this chicken wings.

You need:
Chicken Wings , Remove tip and cut the wings at the joints. Debone by slowly snipping the joined flesh from the bone. DO NOT BREAK the meat. Make sure you only remove the bone and leave a hole in the middle of the wing.

Marinate (rub it outside and don't forget the inside too) - 1 hour or better overnight:
Soya sauce
Crushed black pepper
Garlic, minced
Ginger, minced

Stuff with :
Ham , julienne roughly
Carrot , julienne roughly

Sauce:
Mixed all together:
oyster sauce
sesame oil
soya sauce
Shiao Shing Wine
Sugar
Water

Steps:
1. heat up HCP and add in some oil. Just a lil will do.
2. gently put in your stuffed chicken wing.
3. pan fried it both sides.
4. when both sides are browned, remove from HCP. Without washing HCP, pour in Sauce mixture and let it boil. Then add in your wings and let it simmer till the sauce is thick.
5. Ready to Serve :)

P/S: I like to debone my chicken cos, its for the kids to eat and also I will use the bones to boil soup the next day :) don't waste ma...

Sasha Cook: Eel fish soup

Before this, I have never tasted any fish soup before cos I don't really fancy fish. So since my hub n kids love to eat fish, I gotto cook fish for them. I was at the wet market, standing in front of fish seller and didn't know what to buy. So I just stood there and observe at what they have chosen and briefly asked them how they cook the fish that they selected. So happened both the lady I spoke to told me that this eel fish (NOT EEL! But a fish that looks like eel) is very tasty to make soup and it's not fishy at all after u have fried the fish and then boil it in the soup. Curious, I bought one piece (rm 8) and halved it for 2 rounds of soup.

They suggested:
Tai tau choi Cha Choi (thanks to Tracy ;) I corrected it)
Tomatoes
Soup taufoo
Eel fish (fried and then put in soup to boil)
Pepper
A lil salt ( since tai tau choi is slightly salty, recommend that you put salt last)

And the soup is really nice. I thought that if I were to cook it in the morning it will be fishy by night. But after heating it up for dinner, the soup is really lovely.

The women also told me that she substitute this eel fish with chicken and pork and it taste nicer. She said its healthier too (didn't hear why she was saying cos someone also bought and I was worried there's none for me ! Hehe)

P/s: super busy with work n playing with my Thermomix. So I thought better blog about this and delete the pics in my iPhone cos the storage is about to burst and I better blog about this so I can refer to it next time (worried that I'll forget how to cook it) cos my brain storage is about to burst too. LoL

Sasha Cook: Braised Ginger Spare Ribs with 5 ingredients only)

I suck at cooking and will always be cos I am so lazy to go and find the different ingredients (esp looonnng list) just to make one dish. So that day I found some spare ribs in my fridge. I thought hokay... let's check the recipe book and see what I can make. Wah! Wah! so many ingredients! Nevermind! Check google. wah! wah! the kwai lowe ones are even more ingredients. Okay Give up! So I went to check my fridge instead and found ginger & hoisin sauce. Don't know what is the end result will be like but what the heck? That's the only thing I have :P But I am happy to say I am quite happy with the end result.

So this is what I did:
1. Marinated the spare ribs with finely julienne ginger, ground black pepper, soya sauce and hoisin sauce. Notice that I do not have specific amount for each ingredients? well, that's me. Use your heart to cook! (I dumped everything into a tupperware and shake the fella up and yank it into the fridge for few hours. )
2. Took it out 1 hour before I cook in order for the meat to be room temp.
3. Pan fry the spare ribs first and once its slightly browned...
4. mix some water into the tupperware (with the extra marinate) and pour into the spare ribs. Make sure the water level is enough to cover the spare ribs.

5. Turn the fire to low setting and let it simmer and slowly till the sauce is thicken and the spare ribs are soft enough. If you want thicker sauce, you can thicken the sauce with some corn starch powder mixed with some water.
6. Serve with rice or you can even cook it with Yee Mee (add in at step 4)
Tadaa! My braised ginger spare ribs with hoisin sauce.

Sasha Cook: Lemon Coke Chicken Wings

I suck at cooking.

Seriously.

No Joke.

So I told myself, no more cooking the same crap everyday. I need to explore more recipes and make dinner more enjoyable and not just merely making my kids full.

So I went to google google and I stumbled across a recipe, Lemon Coke Chicken Wing. But I didn't save the recipe.

And then I went to the wet market and stood like an idiot in front of the chicken seller and she asked "yes? nak apa?" I just pointed at the chicken wing and bought 5 chicken wings home. Totally forgotten what the recipe ingredients are, I just simply hantam the recipe.

I marinated the chicken with lemon juice , pepper and also some grated lemon for about half a day in the fridge.

Then I pan fried the wings till its cooked and then I poured in some coke (of course), some brown sugar and some soya sauce. Let it simmer and the sugar and coke will caramelised into thick sauce. oh la la...

Jayden said "mami, this chicken taste like coke and lemon" and ate 3 drumlets. The tiny one had 2 I think. I , myself like it. I asked my hub he said "okay ler....". Okay so here goes something new for myself. Now, I gotto go and think of what to cook next. tata

Sasha cook: Homemade Tofu

Since I made some soya bean milk, I thought "hey why not try and make some tofu out of it since I have so much soya milk. I remember Malaika and Kelsey's mum made this before so I quickly google for it and started making it right after I was done with my soya bean milk.

You need :
500ml of soya milk, unsweetened
6 eggs
and 1/4 tsp of salt

Break the eggs and beat lightly. Then add in the salt and soya bean milk. You need to line the container of your choices with cling wrap and then strain the mixture into the container and steam it over low fire for 20 mins.

I made the mixture into 2 container cos my family is small so we don't need such a big portion. I gave another container to my neighbour. Cos she always cook for me and I think my cooking is not so nice. So I thought why not give raw food and she cook it herself. hehe

And this is how it looks like when I removed it from the container.
Since it's made of egg and soya bean milk, so its yellowish in colour

And this is what I prepared for my family that night.
Sorry ah.. my presentation skill is very bad terrible.

Simple meal with some soya sauce and sesame sees oil sprinkled on top. I added abit of sugar and then fried some shallots and pour it over the tofu. I wanted to sprinkle some spring onions on top but I don't have it in my kitchen.

(Self Reminder: buy some spring onion next time and keep in the kitchen or plant own so will have own supply anytime)

Personally I think its very easy to make your own tofu. If you don't have any homemade soya bean milk, you can always go to the soya bean seller and ask for the unsweetened one and its the same. But once I bough a bottle of unsweetened soya bean milk in a bottle, went home and found out that it is spoilt. So since then I never thought of making it until I prepared my own soya bean today. Try it, its easy :)

Sasha Cook: Homemade Soya Bean Milk

I have always wonder how is it like to make my own soya bean milk. So while shopping at Jaya Grocer, I saw a pack of soya bean and bought it. It was around Rm2.60 for that pack. Forgot how heavy it is and didn't bother cos I thought I'll fail making it.

So I soaked the bean overnight and it became huge, almost doubled the size. So I microwaved it for 2 mins to get rid of the beany smell and then only blend it with some water. The straining part is the hardest as I used the finest strainer (for kopi-O) so I had to use my hands to squeeze the milk out. My son said "mami, are you "milking" the soya? haha So finally was the cooking part. I manage to get some pandan leaves from my garden and put in together with the soya bean milk and cooked it for 20 mins. Voila! Soya bean milk is ready.

It is easy, but of course there are alot of washing to do. The blender, the strainer, the containers, the pot and also the kitchen. If only I have the super Thermomix machine that can do it all in the machine in 20 mins time. *sigh* But nevermind.... before I can save enough money to buy it, I'll just do it manually, long time once. hehe
Jayden enjoying his soya bean milk - mami's brand.

C.I.M : Puff Pastry Snack

I know.. I know.. WHAT THE?????? First it was D.I.M and now its C.I.M????  Sorry la.. I am from Marketing background wan. So we have GWP (gift with purchase) then we have PWP (purchase with purchase) and so I have DIM and now CIM for Cook It Myself la. This is what chinese called " Jik Yip Peng" or "Work Related Sickness???" everything also got some short forms for it. :P

Anyway, I was browsing some blogs and I was thinking "wah this mom , super woman. Can cook this and that". Then i saw one of her recipes wah like so easy nia. So also fast fats go and buy whatever I think I need for the masak masak la.

And the final outcome:
Eh I Did it lehhhhh!!!! Sausage rolls, Ham rolls and tuna puff pastry for our snack time (like so big deal right? *smack forehead*)

I always though its damn hard to cook puff pastry. Actually yeah la. Cos I never make the puff pastry before. So i think its hard la. But then for those who make before, for them is sap sap sui. Can make while painting nails also :P

So after seeing the mommy cook like its so damn easy, I also wanna try lah. So I went to buy the ingredient and taddaa.. What u need is the frozen ready made puff pastry and just thaw it and roll it with anything you likey. Brush some egg wash on it, maybe throw in some cheese or whatever you likelah and put in oven. Kids got snacks, they happy you also happy. No need to prepare long time and not much to clean. hiak hiak hiak....

So what is there to blog about leh? Not that I make from scratch or its something new what right? Yeah, actually why ah i blog about this? nehmind lah. I just wanna take pic and show myself that I did something (and also remind myself that I can make quick snack for myself and my kids in the future) and also give some tips to those very busy moms out there that you also can do it, the short cut way like me:P

Sasha Cook: McD BBQ Roast Chicken

Normally when we eat nuggets in McD, they will give either sweet sour or BBQ dip sauce but we'll skip it.  We normally will just leave it there so that they can reuse it for some other customer. But that day, I tah pau-ed back and I found this sauce.
To throw like very "sayang" and wasting. So I thought keep it for future use. And I used it today to roast chicken.
I only marinated with the sauce (70% of the small container) it for an hour and roasted the chicken for 40 mins and then sapu another layer of bbq sauce on it before serve.

This is only experimental stage for me but it works! I think if i marinate it longer and add 2 packs of the sauce should be nicer.

*yum*

Sasha Cook: Sambal Prawn with Petai

Since I mentioned it in my previous post, all I can think of is the sambal prawn with petai. So this morning I went to the market, got the petai and zoomed home to cook them. I'm a very simple eater, I sapu anything that is served except slithery animals, hopping animals and errr organs. So to me this is good enough but just too oily. I accidently dash-ed too much oil.

If Sasha can cook so can you. Trust me.

Step 1:

Fry the big onions.
Add in prawns.
Add in Petai
And last add in ......
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Rm3.50 a pack.

It's nice. Try it. Some say too sweet, but to me it's okay.

Alah.....Ready pack!

Halo what to expect, got home cooked food should count blessing edi right?

I cooked extra to give to my next door neighbour cos she always cook for me. And then while we're chatting, my opposite neighbour walked over and gave me this.

You say I should count my blessing or not?

Hidup biarlah cincai, no need to kira kira so much.

Cos life is too short and too fragile.

Appreciate it.

Lazy Mum's way to cook porridge using rice cooker

My Part Time maid come every wednesday. By 1 hour time after she leave my house, the upper living room already look like tornado came and left. The next day, all the rooms also will be messy. And 3rd day the living room downstairs and the kitchen is all messy. How come I never clean eh ? I clean Fridays and also on Mondays. Fridays is not that bad but Monday is disaster day. Cos I have 3 guys to mess the entire house during weekend O.O

So most of the time, I won't be on on Mondays. I'll be busy from 7.15 am until 2pm. By then I gotto catch up on my work.

I still cook lunch for my kids and  Mondays are usually porridge day cos I cook it this way.
I double boil my porridge together with their snack in the rice cooker. Why double boil?
1: my rice cooker doesn't have the cook porridge function
2. the water will boil and it flows out and its everywhere. Porridge water is very hard to clean....
3. the cover will be filled with the rice and its very hard to clean
4. I'm lazy to wait for it to boil and then open the cover for the porridge to cook.

So how to cook the porridge using a rice cooker?
step 1: You place whatever ingredient you want in your porridge (mine is the peanut, corn and siu yoke porridge) into a big bowl
step 2: you add rice with enough water to cook porridge
Tips: you can even use left over rice to cook porridge. My aunt who live in NZ told me she used to freeze left over rice and then use it to cook porridge.
step 3: add salt or leave it bland for lil babies
step4: fill yr rice cooker with some water. How much water? double of your "water level for cooking rice"
Step 5: cover and go n do your own stuff. The rice cooker will set to warm mode once the water is gone. By then your porridge is done.

There, this is how a busy lazy mum's way to cook porridge.

must remember to....

Okay some of you guys wondered how the heck I manage to design, sew and handle 2 kids at the same time. Let me tell you one thing, I am not trying to be a supermum. I am just a very hyperactive person and also I like to earn my own income, to spend a lil bit of money buying things for my kids and myself without having to think 10 times before I buy something. And also, its not nice to see my bank account decreasing everyday. If you're a sahm without income, you'll know what I am talking about. If i cannot make it go up, why not i maintain it. Right? Sewing and Designing doesn't give me much, it just provide enuff for me to spend each month and trust me.. i spend very little. :~(

Nowadays I only login when my kids are asleep. If you see me online early means I have something urgent to rush or simply the Mac is on but the "human" is somewhere else. When they are awake I quickly do my laundry, cleaning and cooking. And yes, I have a part time maid that comes every wednesday. But as soon as she leave, the 2 is starting to mess up the house again. When they are sleeping, I will be in front of my mac googling for ideas for both my sewing and also my designing. When I am stucked at my design, I go sew. That is how I manage my work. So its all accumulated work, everyday abit abit abit.

Sometimes I prepare simple and fast meal. Spaghetti, Porridge, Stew and most impt for my kids - SOUP. So here is one of the recipe i did last night. Very nice.....the chicken is very soft and suitable for kids.

Yesterday was one of my smooth sailing day. The laundry all done, the Soup being cooked very early, Lunch prepared, Dinner also prepared very early. Kids nap very long time (YAY) and i managed to do some designing. So by the time its was for dinner, I so eksyen said "Okay.. stop playing now! Come Sek Farn (eat rice)", and the kids dropped the toys and ran to the kitchen. Then i said "Okay go and play your toys again! I forgot to press the cook button at the rice cooker :P" My boys were shivering in hunger "mami i want eat yice...." the small one said. The big one "Mami..please i am Hungry!". "Hehe no rice ah... mami forgot to press cook button. Sorry ah.. wait okay?" And by the time the dinner was served, either my cooking is super nice or... they are just too hungry. Hehe

I know, I know.. must remember to press the COOK button ma..
