Corn and Water chestnut soup

Ah... The weather is going crazy hot these days. Typical CNY weather but this year was the worst. I heard draught is happening too. So I think I better take precaution just in case my kids get overheated internally and I end up nursing sick kiddos later. So I stood at the wet market and googled "Chinese soup for Hot days and "corn and water chestnut" appeared so I went and bought all the ingredient. And then when I got back, I tried to look for the same page, I can't track it back.

What to do? Simply whack la. After all its just boiling soup right?

And this was my soup for today.

And then I tried googling again and I found the recipe here.

Boil it for about an hour and you have a cooling drink for the family.

Here are some benefits about water Chestnut. Preg ladies, do take precaution about consuming water chestnut ya. 

Ikan Bakar in Lombok

This was one of our meal while we're in Lombok. Along the beach you can find Ikan Bakar, Ikan Bakar, Ikan Bakar... and.. hmmm let me see... More ikan Bakar. 

There were no place to wash our hands, no table. Nothing. 

BUT... the ikan bakar man will provide mat for us (if we order) and no cutleries. You eat with your hands and you can wash your hands using the natural water a.k.a the sea water *lol*

However this was the best Ikan Bakar I have tasted. The sauce is super nice. My first time eating BBQ-ed Brinjal and dash with sambal belacan. My first time eating kangkung + taugeh + Coconut (!!) with sambal. 

And when the wind blows, our meal was peppered with sand. *lol*

But it was Oh•So•Nice!

If you're traveling to Lombok, must try the Ikan Bakar ya, But which stall is nice, I don't know :P

Beauty of nature, up closed.

A moth busy laying eggs in my garden. Too engrossed until I flip the leaf and went so near her, she just continued to lay eggs.

Aloe Vera to treat sunburn

We just got back from Lombok, Indonesia and my son is burnt ! Poor boy looked like Zorro *lol*

Today (2 days after we were back)  His lips were swollen and his skin started peeling. So I asked my good friend via watsapp and she told me "Aloe Vera, you have that in your garden right?" 

Ah yes!!!! I do!! So I went and cut off one and applied for him. 

  

And 2 hours later his skin started to peel when we're having lunch at McD ( that explains the ice cream moustache)

And this was like 3 hours after applied. And I applied another round for him hopefully it will help him to recover faster. 

Ah....the wonders of gardening :)  you won't starve and you can heal too.
