Perhaps..

If you have read my old posts, you might have read that we suspected that JT is probably dyslexic. We are waiting for his assessment but in the mean time, I'm trying to help him as much as possible. Besides reading and writing, I'm trying to build his confidence cos not being able to read sometimes make him so sad and lack of confidence.
This morning , I taught him how to handle my DSLR and told him "perhaps you can be a photographer some day?". He smiled and said "yes! Maybe I can!" Then he was sad again. He said "but... I don't have a camera. How to be photographer?" I told him "I give you mine lah" and he said "really?! Yay!" Then he was sad again " if you give me yr camera then you have no camera anymore. Or maybe you can buy a new camera and then only you give me this?"

Teaching lil' boy to read

JT was in kindy G for year before this. And I always wonder why he can't read even simple words like "apple" or "boy". And after some observation, I found out that he reads and writes in mirror image. Being a leftie, they say it's very common.
And being 4 yrs old, they say it's common also.
But one whole year and still not being able to read, I'm abit worried that he dyslexic. And since the principal in kindy G shuns JD for being an Aspie, I was so ready to leave that kindy.

Notice that the entire word is mirror image? He said that when he see his teacher write on the board, it's like this. Scarry?

This year JT is in kindy B and I have informed the teacher about his problem and also worked on helping him to correct his reading and writing problem at home. Writing is a very hard thing for him, I still wonder why. There's always excuse that his hand is painful, his eyes tired, and much more. I was pissed each time I helped him and I end up pulling my hair and screaming like a mad woman. And then I started to google for methods to teach him to read. I tried a few method and then finally I found that he can read when I'm using the phonics method.

So I changed my method of teaching:
1. Use whiteboard to write and asked him to write and teach me back

2. Sit where he likes, floor.

3. Use alot of colours to get him interested

4. Mind mapping using pics that connects with him

5. Teach abit each day and revise what I have taught previously.

And recently I made flipcards with words and pictures and I gave this set to his school teacher so she can share with other kids. :) If you want a copy for your kids, let me know and I'll email it to you :)

Which One Do You Love More?

People asked me "do you love your JD more or JT more?"

I said equally and no one believe me. So I did a test and I asked JD while JT was in sch 

Me: do you think I love you more or titi more? ( Risky question I know... )

JD: I think you love ME more

Me:  why?

JD: cos I always help you and titi is always tired.

^_^

And I did the same when JD was in sch

Me: titi do you think I love u more or kor kor more

JT: (He misunderstood and said ) I love you and kor kor same

Me: no, I mean, do you think I love you more than kor kor? Or love kor kor more than you?

JT : (And he replied very quickly) I think you love me more ^__________^

Happy that they both think I love them more than the other party. As long as they feel they are so loved, What other ppl think is not very important isn't it? ;)

The Rice In The Nose

Lion eat people?

Was feeding JT lunch in JD's sch canteen when we heard a lion dance commotion.


JT: is that lion dance?
Me: yeap.
JT: does the lion eat people?
Me: hmm.... Only the naughty ones.
JT: then we better NOT go there
Me: why? Do you think you are naughty?
JT: *head down and nod nod* the lion give angpow?
Me: only to the good ones. The bad ones they will swallow them up
JT: O_O !!!

So we went and he was pulling me away and said No mami!!!no! And we saw the lion's back dancer carried a boy under the lion's cape. I said "poor boy! Must be too naughty. Luckily the lion spit him out and he's a good boy now".

JT just nod nod and said "luckily it's over now"

*lol* you should see his facial expression then. 

Do you know why he was so afraid? Cos his teacher just told me that he took out the homework that he was supposed to do at home and told his teacher "I don't wanna do homework. I hate homework" And he thought he really didn't bring the homework back. He didn't know that his teacher put the book back and told his evil mom about his plan. *lol*

Of fingernails and housework

While cutting Justin's toenails..

JD: mami.. *looking at my fingernails* why is teacher lee's fingernail so long?
Me: oh.. cos she wanna look pretty. And of course no need to do housework lor.
JT: hey.. that's no good you know?
Me: what is no good?
JT: long fingernails la.
Me: why?
JT: cos cannot do housework. You know mami. You are pretty....when you mop the floor.
Me: I.am.pretty.when.I'm.mopping.house?
JT: yeah, very pretty when you are mopping house.
Me: hahahhaha thank you ah.......(thinking wah pandai ah this fler angkat my feet so I need to do more housework)
JD: mami, I will help you to do housework wan.
JT: me too! Me too! but..................only when I'm NOT tired.
JD and Me: BUT YOU'RE ALWAYS TIRED!
JT: yeah :P

Got tricked by Justin ;)

We bought A paint-it-yourself kit for my ex-neighbour and I told JT, not to tell what's inside. So we went to her house and sent went down to give her the pressie and he decided he wanna stay there for a few hours. After he came back home, I asked him :

Me: So did Aunty D asked you what's inside the pressie??
JT: yeah.
Me: what did you say? did you tell her?
JT: I said I don't know.
Me: then how?
JT: then she ask again. And then I said it's a table cloth.
ME: HAH??? SERIOUSLY????
JT: yeah. I told her its a table cloth.
Me: *lol* then what she say? did she open the present?
JT: after that she never say anything. She just put the present down.

Hahhaha must be so heart broken thinking that I got her a table cloth. So this morning I called her to verify what JT told me and she said "Ah your son is so cheeky! kept saying I don't know I don't know when I asked him. And then I tried to trick him by saying "is it a towel? Is it a table cloth? And he quickly said, yeah its a table cloth. It's a blue table cloth. So today I opened and I saw and thought AIYAH i got tricked by justin!"

is it Christmas yet?

We went out with my ex-neighbour and she gave us a pack of Snow Flakes Origami set and Xmas pressie for the kids. Justin, of course (being her fav) got the biggest pressie. Our journey from my old house to my new house is like 1 min. In that ONE minute...as soon as he received the pressie..

JT: Mami, is it Christmas yet?

Me: Nope. 25th December. Many more days.

JT: Okay............ Is it christmas now?

Me: Not yet. You just asked lah.

JT: okay........ when?

Me: 25th December my dear.

JT: Okay............ Now, is it christmas.

Me: Oh my god, Justin! Not yet.

JD: Haiyoh, 25th December lah! Not yet

JT: okay.......... How about now?

ME and JD: AIYOH!!!!

(reached home)

JT: okay, now is christmas right?

Me: *slap forehead* No!

JT: you bluff me. Just now i saw decoration in the class. Got christmas tree. Means its christmas already!

Now you know why he is so excited about the present? Chocolate and Car. Both his fav.

You've got mail!

Just before I head out to send JD to class, I peeked into the mailbox and to my surprise, I found something.

A mail from my lil boy. He colored it earlier and went out to put it into the  mailbox for me.

I said "wow! I have a mail!" and he said "yeah! It's for you! From me! Angry bird mail!"

How cool is that?! But he doesn't know how to write much now, so perhaps maybe next time he'll know how to write my name on it :)

Of Fish and Fishing

Since he was very very tiny dude, he liked fish. When he started to talk, he started to talk about different kinds of fishes, its name and its kind. My neighbour then taught him "Justin...say FISH.." He said "Puffer Fish, Angler Fish, Dolphin" pointing at book and it shocked my neighbour.

When we go to the bookstore, JD would go to the comic section and this lil boy will look for fishing magazine. And this is him (many months ago) reading a fishing magazine in the bookstore and that puppy eye look is asking me to buy a book for him. Of course I said no. Who else reads about fishing magazine?

And if he come across any fish toy, he'd stand there and not move until someone buy it for him. Usually it's my sister that will surrender and buy for him. And this is his latest toy, a moving fish with annoying music. *pull hair*

So when he overheard that my parents went for fishing last last weekend, he asked me if we can tag along the next time they go again. So off we went to a fish pond in Rawang last sunday.

There's 2 reason to why we went; one is for my kids to spend time with my parents cos they just adore the kids very much. Two: is for my kids to be exposed to outdoor activities rather than just ipad games.

They manage to catch only ONE fish in that one hour. The previous week, my mum manage to catch 40 (yeap...forty) fishes. It poured one hour after we arrived so we packed up and left. Although it's just that one hour, I can see all of them (my parents and my kids) enjoyed themselves, all with their  own reasons. And I'm just happy that everyone is happy :)

My Cheeky Luigi

When I bring him out to meet my friends (cos they hardly see my fb - it's all about kids. who wanna read anyway?) and also relatives (they claim that there are too many to remember, *lol*), they will ask him "what's your name boy?".

And he would say "My name is Luigi".

And usually the people's reaction is ..."Huh?"

And he would teach them to pronounce it "Lu......Eeeeee.....Gie...."

And people will repeat after him and they really think that his name is Luigi. *lol*

And I'll be around to say "hahah he's a joker la. His name is Justin".

And he'll smirk and bounce off.

p/s: he is Luigi when he is wearing green. Other times, he is Justin.

When Mami is working at BYOB

A very common sight if I'm at BYOB with my kids.

But luckily I wasn't the victim when I took this pic. Victim, was my sister.

That's JD under her shirt while she was refilling detergent for the customer. *slap forehead*

And we can't scold him in front of the customers, so we just "tahan".

Of Death, Egg and Spoon.

In the car last night...

JD: mami.. when you are old, where are you going to stay? Old town with poh poh and koong koong?

Me: No ah. I stay in my own house, with you all lor.

JD: then koong koong and poh poh will die soon?

Me: nolah. Not so fast la.

JD: when are they going to die?

Me: aiyoh when they are older la.

JD: when?

Me: after you get married and have kids la.

JD: oh....

JT: mami, if your dadi dead (dies) what are you going to do?

Me: i'll cry and I'll be sad.

JT: you don't be sad. I'll help you.

Me: huh? How?

JT: I'll lay a very big egg, *pooot* like this. It's big okay. But you cannot hatch it just like that. You need to use a big spoon and knock it so it will hatch. Then you will get a new dadi again. 

Me: *lol* sure or not?

JT: yeah. But then you gotto feed him alot of food so that he can grow big again.

Me: *lol* When I die, are you gonna be sad?

JT: yeah.....I'll be sad *think think*.....mami.. when I die.. what are you gonna do?

Me: I'll be very very very very sad and I'll cry for many many many days.

JT: don't worry la. Just lay another egg. But its a tiny one. And you no need to use spoon to hatch it. I'll hatch and come back again. Just feed me alot of food and I'll be Justin again.

JD: hoi.... Human don't come from egg la! *irritated* They come from....... mami where did human come from?

Me: neh..... *think think* from tummy lor.

JT: You mean, human not from egg ah? Then what comes from eggs?

Me: birds, chicken, duck, blablablabla but mammals like elephant, giraffe, dog, cat all come from tummy. They come out from the mummy tummy and they look like their mummy wan.

JD: *eyes wide* You mean even giraffe???????

Me: yeah! giraffe too!

JD: when giraffe come out, is the neck long or short?

Me: long la.

JD: HOW DID THEY HIDE IT INSIDE THE TUMMY? They curl or what?

Me: *lol yeah they curl and hide inside the tummy*

JD: *scratch head*

Mamamia!

Ever since we bought him the Luigi plastic figurine, he has been bathing, feeding, playing and even went sleeping with him.

And Luigi went on an LRT ride.

And yesterday he saw the green cap in Cotton On and he said "Wow! I found my Luigi Cap!"

And the LuigiS went for an ice cream treat together.

Hehe kinda cute seeing him so sayang his Luigi. I wonder how long he is into Luigi this time ;)

JT: cos.... The people in the tv said it's not good to take ppl's things!

Haha like real! If I were to say I'll give him all the choc and Ice cream after I die, proly he'll say "okay! Thank you!"

Brand new!

JT: oh thanks mami.
Me: ah why ah?
JT: thanks for this present *showing me a hot wheels car that I bought to keep as a standby bday present*
me: eh... It's not for u lah!!
JT: it's okay. I know how to open it *piakkkkkk*
me: eh!!!!! Seriously! It's not for you! I tell you, I'm going to bath now and when I come out, and if I see that it's not perfectly wrapped, someone's gonna get hurt. You understand me?
JT: *panic mode* kor kor!!!!! Help me!!!!!

So I went to check on them and found out that JD is helping him to stick the wrapper back. Went to bath and came back later and the small one said "tada!!!! See we fixed it back. Now it's brand new again!!!!"

Aiyo like this called brand new *sweat*

I took it away from him of course. He's still not gonna get it although its badly injured. *lol*
